"Mountains" is a single by Scottish band Biffy Clyro, released on August 18, 2008. Originally released as a 'non-album' single, "Mountains" is the band's highest charting single to date on the UK singles chart, peaking at #5. The song was later included on the bands fifth studio album, Only Revolutions.[1]
Regarding the track's inclusion on Only Revolutions bassist James Johnston noted:[2]“ The reason we decided to put it on the record was that we felt that in maybe five or ten years time if the song wasn't on the record then it would get lost. People might have been like "What's this song? I didn't have that single" or something like that. It was maybe just too good a song to leave out. I think it definitely fits on the record and adds a lot to the record as well. ”
"Mountains" was originally entitled "Teeth or Mountains", and was first played live at the Electric Festival in Getafe, Spain, on May 30th 2008.
