Chuck Berry was born in a Black family of middle class having many children (the father was the contractor of Baptist church, mother — by the principal) and since the childhood was fond of music. After leaving school, within 10 years, acted on clubs, playing blueses. In one of them, in Saint Louis, it began to execute the country, painted by blues receptions. This innovative mixture of styles (to each of which the audience parted to a racial sign was inherent has brought to it local popularity. In May, 1955 of Berry, by Waters's council Maddi, left on Leonard Chess, the owner of blues label Chess Records. That has become interested in the guitarist, and its experiments from the country, rather than its blues, to surprise Berry. On May, 21st in firm studio the first single of Chuck of Berry, «Maybellene», combining pressure of a rhythm-and-blues and country stylistics has been written down. The single has occupied 1 place in the American charts of a category of a rhythm-and-blues. Hide review
