Genesis -the English rock group created in 1967 and belonging initially to movement of progressive fate. The group received Grammy awards, has sold worldwide more than 150 million albums and has entered on this indicator in top all 30 times. Its most known participants, Peter Gebriel and Fil Collins, have made successful solo open-cast mines.

This one of the most outstanding British groups has been generated in the late sixties when its participants still went to school. In the original line-up, called at first «Garden Wall», have entered Peter Gejbriel ( on February, 13th 1950; a vocal), Tony Benks ( on March, 27th 1951; keyboard), Anthony Filips (guitar), Mike Ruterford ( on October, 2nd 1950; a bass, a guitar) and Chris Stewart (shock). In 1967 quintet has written down demorecord and has sent to its graduate of the same school where other guys studied also, in Jonatan King working at that point in time in «Decca». From King's giving the collective has replaced the name on «Genesis» and under its management has let out pair of singles and one album. A particular interest «From Genesis To Revelation» in public hasn't caused, and consequently «Decca» has terminated the contract. The command was picked up by a newly-baked label «Charisma Records», but the ensemble still had one more problem – drummers. At sessions «FGTR» Stewart was replaced by John Silver, and already at record «Trespass» for drums John Mejhju has taken seat. Hide review
